2018 -- Discover STEM Camp

A Look Back at Our July STEM Summer Camp

Our camp ran throughout the entire month of July — and what an incredible experience it was!

Each day began with praise and prayer, grounding us in gratitude and setting a positive tone for the day. We then moved into reading time, where we shared two beloved stories in Creole: The Three Little Pigs and The Giving Tree.

From these stories, we launched into five hands-on class sessions, each designed around the themes and lessons in the books, while applying the engineering design process. Every session was built around core elements of STEM:

• S – Science

• T – Technology

• E – Engineering

• A – Art

• M – Mathematics

  
  

It was amazing to see how storytelling sparked curiosity and creativity in the kids. They learned to think critically, build thoughtfully, and collaborate as young problem-solvers.
